About Us

Soroptimists are women of all ages, cultures and ethnic groups. Members represent a wide array of professions, including doctors, attorneys, teachers, chief executive officers, business owners and government officials. Soroptimists are leaders in their communities who believe in the power of joining together to make the world a better place for women and girls.

The North Atlantic Region has clubs in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, and parts of West Virginia. Each of these clubs identify needs in their community and establish projects to meet those needs. Efforts go beyond community as Soroptimist are dedicated to effecting change at the national and international levels to improve the lives of women and young girls in local communities and throughout the world.

Soroptimist’s major project is the Women’s Opportunity Awards, which help women who provide the primary source of financial support for their families by giving them the resources they need to improve their education, skills, and employment prospects.

Soroptimist also sponsors the Live Your Dream campaign, which encourages all women to live their dreams while helping others to do the same. Visit the campaign’s online home at LiveYourDreamCampaign.org.
