In Memory: Beverly Carr-Bryan

Executive Director Liz has asked me to inform you that headquarters received word this week of the passing of Bev Carr on Monday, October 10, 2011, after a quiet fight with cancer. Bev served SIA in numerous positions, including Governor of North Atlantic Region in 1994-1996 and 1996-1998; as a member of the SIA Board of Directors from 2002-2004 (she served as Secretary/Treasurer during 2003-2004) and on the SIA Fund Development Council from 2004-2008. The following information has been taken from the online obituary:
Beverly A. Carr-Bryan of Bedminster passed away on Oct. 10, 2011, at Neshaminy Manor. She was 69.
Beverly was the beloved wife of John Bryan of Bedminster and loving mother of Raymond (Michelle) of Chalfont and David (Colleen) of Telford. She is also survived by her three grandchildren; and her step-children, Kristin Burliss (Charles) of Massachusetts, James Bryan of Point Pleasant, John Bryan III (Michele) of Sweden, Timothy Bryan (Christine) of Pipersville; and eight step-grandchildren.
Beverly was preceded in death by her first husband, George, and her brother, Ronald Carrara.
She worked with an architectural firm for 19 years and in 1986 she joined Penn's Grant Realty Group as business manager. She then went to school for her license for real estate broker. She started her own business in 1997, B.C. Property Management Inc. In 1998, she formed the Bucks Realty Group.
Beverly was active in Soroptimist International of the Americas. She first served as president of the Bucks County Club. She served two terms as Director of the North Atlantic Region. She was then elected to the North Atlantic Region Governor from 1997 to 1998. She was on the Board of Directors from 2002 to 2004 and on the Fund Development Council from 2004 to 2008.
Relatives and friends are invited to her Memorial Mass on Friday, Oct. 14, 2011 in Our Lady of Mount Carmel, 284 State Street, Doylestown. Her family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass at Noon. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family.
Margo Hunt, one of Bev’s close Soroptimist friends, noted that the online obituary has a few mistakes, including where to direct Soroptimist donations in lieu of flowers, and has suggested that if Soroptimist friends wish to make a donation on Bev’s behalf, to please make that donation to Soroptimist International of the Americas.
